Tok, Alaska City Profile

Tok, Alaska lies on a flat alluvial plain in the Tanana Valley.  Its located between the Tanana River and the Alaska Mountain Range.  Its also one of the most important junctions in Alaska being located at the junction of Glenn Highway and the Alaska Highway.  There are quite a few Indian Settlements in the area.  The town was originally used as an Alaskan Road Commission Camp when they were building the Alaska Highway.  The US Customs office was located in Tok until 1971 when it was moved to the Canadian border.  The weather around this area is pretty insane much like the rest of this part of Canada.
