I thought I would hook you guys up with a decent map of the Alaska Marine Highway System.  If you are from the lower 48 States or another country you might be wondering what a Marine Highway System is…well basically since Alaska is so big with most of the population living on the southern coast water becomes a huge means of transportation.  So in 1948 a couple of Haines, Alaska residents started a business that would eventually be bought out by the government and renamed to the Alaska Marine Highway in 1951.  In October of 1989 the Southern most route was moved to Bellingham, Washington which connected the contiguous 48 States with Alaska.
