Medicine Hat, Alberta City Profile

Located east of Lethbridge and southeast of Calgary, Medicine Hat is the sixth-largest city in Alberta.  Known for it’s massive natural gas fields and reserves the city got the nickname “The Gas City”.  Founded in 1883 it was not incorporated as a town until 1898 and a city in 1906.  The reasons for the boom in population initially were due to the expansion west and having the first hospital past Winnipeg.   It also happens to be conveniently located halfway between Winnipeg and Vancouver.  There is no shortage of things to do here and more than 100 restaurants to choose from.
